About Nakia O. Shy

Apostle Nakia O. Shy is a leader, educator, author, and builder committed to helping individuals, ministries, and communities discover, develop, and deploy their God-given purpose.

Her life's work is rooted in a simple conviction: transformation happens when people encounter the presence of God, embrace intentional growth, and are equipped to impact the world around them. Through teaching, leadership development, worship arts, missions, and community engagement, she has spent nearly two decades empowering others to move from potential to purpose.

As the Founder and Director of Covenant Praise Ministries International, Nakia has dedicated herself to cultivating worshipers, equipping leaders, and restoring a biblical understanding of worship as both lifestyle and ministry. What began as a call to the ministry of movement evolved into a broader assignment to mentor leaders, strengthen ministries, and help believers mature in their spiritual formation and Kingdom responsibility.

Her influence extends beyond the local church into nonprofit leadership, global missions, and community development. As Vice President of the Board of Directors for Restored 2 Purpose Foundation, she helps guide initiatives focused on leadership training, resource distribution, youth development, missions, and sustainable community empowerment. Whether serving in the United States, Haiti, South Africa, Germany, or beyond, her approach remains the same: equip people, strengthen local leadership, and build lasting impact.

Nakia holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Wayland Baptist University and dual Master's degrees in Biblical Exposition and Human Services with a specialization in Christian Ministries from Liberty University. She brings together theological depth, organizational strategy, and practical ministry experience to help leaders navigate both calling and assignment with wisdom and excellence.

She is also the author of When Praise Meets Worship, a resource created to help ministers of movement understand the sacred connection between worship, service, and spiritual formation.

Above every title and accomplishment, Nakia considers herself a servant, mentor, and lifelong learner. Her passion is to see people healed, equipped, and released into the fullness of their God-ordained purpose—transforming churches, communities, and nations for generations to come.

"I believe purpose is not something we create—it is something we steward. My passion is helping people encounter God deeply, lead with integrity, serve with excellence, and walk confidently in the assignment entrusted to them. Whether through teaching, writing, missions, leadership development, or worship, my goal is the same: to equip people for transformation that outlives them."
